2005:
Project for the support of the National Network for Equal Opportunities

In the beginning of 2005 Global Fund for Women approved a project proposed by WAD. The requested grant will be used for the general operating expenses for the co-ordination and operation of the National Network for Equal Opportunities - NNEO.

The following activities for the successful administration of NNEO will be funded for a period of one year:

Information activities:

• Gathering, structuring and disseminating of information coming through Internet, books, magazines, bulletins, materials from seminars and conferences
• Preparing and producing the WAD monthly bulletin including 4-pages additional, made on a rotation principle from different NNEO organizations
• Publishing up-to date information about the NNEO projects and activities; up-grade the information on the WAD website

Fund raising and capacity building activities:

• Consultations on project ideas and funding opportunities (donors, open programs for Bulgaria, partnerships, etc.), technical support on writing joined project proposals
• Disseminating information on opportunities of training & education, available at WAD and other training providers
• Collect good practices, ideas and implemented projects from the partners organizations and from different groups in the country and abroad

Joint actions and advocacy focused activities

• Support of appeals, position papers => NGOs pressure, supportive action/ solidarity in positions taken (lobbying) => campaigns
• Providing contacts and links to partner organizations in the country and abroad and facilitate interaction with other existing viable self-help and support networks, such as Roma women, Anti-violence network

Organizational activities:

• Planning, organizing and providing technical support to the 5 working groups of the NNEO - five discussion meetings, reporting, monitoring
• Planning and organizing the NNEO general assembly //organizational meeting
